If he isn't actually in the clan, he may just have the tags to represent something else. I experienced this in a BF2 server.

don't know of this member.....maybe contact the people who emailed you to get more info.....pid etc would be useful.......as you know people can use any tag and get clans that use the tag a bad name by hacking.
