i was planing to use my psu to run new build, however my psu is a 4 pin and mobo is a 8 pin..

does this matter? can i use 4 pin?

Other question, does the old one deliver enough power for it? BTW there must be an adapter for such things... please correct me if I'm wrong.

it plugs in lol, dont wanna risk it though.. was told it may crash/blue screen.. still dont have windows, so couldnt use it anyway, am fucked lol... using karens i3 at moment... reckon this 420w psu would run the 6770 ok if fitted?

AMD specify at least 450W for that card, up to you if you want to try it

managed to get a 4 to 8 pin cable today, any you guys clued up on these? some have said its ok others said its a bad idea

I wouldn't be confident enough to say yes or no, I might know someone who knows a bit more about hardware but would be up to you whether to try it or not

He said it should be OK as long as there is enough power in the PSU for the system, but again it's up to you lol
